Information
1. Treatment of protective film
A protective film is affixed to the surface of the assembled module to prevent contamination of the display surface during assembly. It must not be removed before the end of the assembly to avoid staining or damaging the display surface.
2. Add padding
It is better to install a gasket about 0.1 mm between the module and the front panel. The panel should also be kept flat to avoid distortion after assembly and improve its anti-vibration performance.
Three, strictly prevent static electricity
The control and drive circuit in the module is a low-voltage, low-power CMOS circuit, which is very easy to be broken down by static electricity. Static breakdown is an irreparable damage, and the human body sometimes generates a high voltage of up to tens or hundreds of volts. Static electricity, so you should be extremely careful in handling, assembly and use to prevent static electricity:
1. Do not touch the outer leads, the circuit on the circuit board and the metal frame with your hands;
2. The soldering iron used for welding and the power tools used for operation must be well grounded and there is no leakage;
3. Dry air will also generate static electricity. Therefore, the humidity in the workplace should be above RH60%;
4. Do not use a vacuum cleaner for cleaning, because it will generate strong static electricity;
5. If direct contact is necessary, the human body and the module should be kept at the same potential, or the human body should be well grounded;
6. When taking out or putting it back in the packaging bag or moving position, also need to be careful to prevent static electricity. Do not change the packaging or discard the original packaging at will.
Four, precautions during assembly operation
1. The module is carefully designed and assembled, please do not process or trim by yourself;
2. Do not modify the shape, assembly holes, circuits and other components of the processed PCB at will;
3. Do not modify any internal support;
4. Do not modify the conductive tape;
5. The metal frame claws must not be twisted or disassembled at will;
6. Do not touch, drop, bend, or twist the module.
Five, welding
When welding the external leads and interface circuits of the module, the following procedures should be followed.
1. The temperature of the soldering iron tip is less than 280°C;
2. Welding materials: eutectic, low melting point;
3. Do not repeat welding more than 3 times, and each repetition requires an interval of 5 minutes.
4. Do not use acidic flux;
5. The welding time is less than 3~4s;
6. Use and maintenance of the module
1. The external leads of the module must not be connected wrongly. When you want to debug the LCD module, please pay attention to the correct wiring, especially the wiring of the positive and negative power supply must not be wrong, otherwise it may cause overcurrent, overvoltage, and burn the core on the circuit. The phenomenon of damage to the components of the liquid crystal module by the film;
2. When the module is used, the sequence of connecting the logic power supply and the driving power supply should be the logic power supply first, then the driving power supply; when the power is off, the power supply should be driven first, then the logic power supply. Doing so helps to maintain a good display effect of the screen and avoid voltage shock damage during power-on and power-off. Therefore, it is recommended to use a controlled DC-DC power supply as the drive power supply for the module.
3. Because of the physical properties of the liquid crystal material, the contrast of the liquid crystal will change accordingly with the change of temperature, so the negative voltage value you add should be adjusted accordingly with the temperature, which is roughly a temperature change of 10°C and a voltage change of 1 volt. To meet this requirement, you can make a temperature compensation circuit, or arrange a potentiometer to adjust the negative voltage value with temperature;
4. The contrast, viewing angle, temperature, and driving voltage of the dot matrix liquid crystal module are closely related to the temperature and driving voltage. Therefore, if the VEE is adjusted too high, it will not only affect the display, but also shorten the service life of the module;
5. When the module is in use, connect and disconnect the power supply, and the signal level can be input only after the positive power supply is connected stably. If the signal level is input before the power is stabilized or after it is disconnected, the IC and circuit in the module may be damaged;
6. It should not be used outside the specified operating temperature range, and should not be stored outside the storage limit temperature range. If the temperature is lower than the crystallization temperature, the liquid crystal will crystallize, if the temperature is too high, the liquid crystal will become isotropic Liquid, destroy the molecular orientation, make the device scrap;
7. Press hard on the display part, it will produce abnormal display. At this time, cut off the power supply, wait a while, and then power on again, it will return to normal;
8. When the surface of the liquid crystal display device or the module is fogged, do not work with electricity, because this will cause a chemical reaction of the electrode and cause a disconnection;
9. When used for a long time under sunlight and strong light, the blocked part will produce afterimages.
10. The module backlight adopts LED light source. When designing the product, please set the control of the backlight source to light up, and do not set it to long on, in order to extend the life of the backlight source.
Seven, module storage
For long-term storage (such as several years or more), we recommend the following methods:
1. Put it into a polyethylene bag (preferably with anti-static coating) and seal the mouth;
2. Never put anything on the surface;
3. Keep it in a dark place and avoid strong light;
4. Store between 5°C~ +30°C;
5. Strictly avoid storage under extreme temperature/humidity conditions.
